CEO - Sam Ryu (official name is Seh M. Ryu, 柳 世滿)

After obtaining his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn in 1970, Dr. Ryu joined Gulf Oil Corporation as a research engineer at Gulf Research & Development Company in Harmarville, PA. In 1981, Ryu was appointed as a director of Gulf Oil Corporation's Polymer Research Center in Houston. While he worked for Gulf Oil Corp., Dr. Ryu co-published an article for Harvard Business Review with Dr. U. Merten, a vice president of the R&D Company. The article was based on the work of a group of staff on special assignment reporting to the VP who analyzed the R&D activities. In 1983, Gulf Oil Corp. closed Polymer Research Center, and Ryu opened a small computer retail store named CompuRite. The name was later changed to Computize and expanded from one store grossing $1.5 million in 1984 to 19 locations grossing $105 million by 1995. During this period he served on the Tech Data Advisory Board, the MOCA Dealer Council, and the Apple Dealer Council. Computize initially catered to corporations, and Apple products were among the top sellers. As the PC market declined starting in 1996, and popularity shifted from Apple, Ryu had to close many stores and reshape the company.

Currently, Ryu holds positions with three other companies: board of directors of HiEd Inc., president of Computize, Inc., and president of SMR management Inc.
